Privacy notice
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Who I am
This website belongs to Mr Tinsel, children’s entertainer (“I”, “me”). I am responsible for any personal data described in this notice. You can email me at normantinsel@yahoo.com.
Steve Hine builds and hosts the website for me and handles privacy questions about it. You can email Steve at steve@stevehine.co.uk.
What this website collects
This website has no contact forms, accounts or advertising, and it doesn’t set cookies. It doesn’t track you across other websites. It does count visits using privacy-friendly analytics, explained below.
Website analytics
I use Pirsch Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. Pirsch doesn’t use cookies or store anything on your device.
When you load a page, Pirsch creates a temporary visitor code by scrambling (hashing) your IP address, your browser’s user agent, the date and a code unique to this site. Your IP address is never stored. Because the date is part of the calculation, you can’t be recognised after 24 hours, or across different websites. Pirsch also records the page you visited, the page that linked to it, your browser, operating system and device type, your screen size, and your approximate location (country and city).
I only see totals, such as the number of visitors to each page, and can’t identify you from them. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. Pirsch (Emvi Software GmbH) processes the data on servers in Germany under a data processing agreement.
You can opt out with the button below. It saves a small setting in this browser that tells Pirsch not to count your visits. The setting stays until you clear your browser data, and you can switch counting back on here.
Your visits are counted anonymously.
Enquiries and bookings
If you phone, text, WhatsApp, email or message me on Facebook, I use your name, contact details and the details of your event (such as the date, the venue and the number and ages of the children) to reply, give you a quote and arrange your booking. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and then carrying out the booking. I keep these details only for as long as I need them for that and for my business records.
WhatsApp and Facebook are run by Meta, which handles messages sent through them under its own privacy policy.
Video
The video on the home page is hosted by Wistia (Wistia, Inc., USA). Nothing is sent to Wistia until you press play. Your browser then connects to Wistia, which streams the video and receives technical information such as your IP address and browser type. See Wistia’s privacy policy.
Hosting and security
The website is delivered by Cloudflare. To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. Cloudflare operates internationally, so this data may be processed outside the UK under approved safeguards. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Links to other websites
This website links to other sites, such as Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube and The Paul Kay Entertainment Company. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and nothing is sent to them unless you follow a link.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data I hold about you
- have inaccurate data corrected
- ask for your data to be deleted
- ask me to restrict how I use your data
- object to my use of your data, including the analytics described above
To use any of these rights, email Steve at steve@stevehine.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with how your data has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
